DepEd Dgte picks Best Teacher’s Success Story

“I came to realize that if I didn’t hold on, I could have drowned this poor soul to the pit of bitterness and frustration, “ said Mrs. Floregene L. Epan, 1 st runner-up, as she related her best teacher’s success story. She was referring to a former student who was in conflict with the law but is now finishing Marine Engineering in Cebu City because of her unflinching support.

Eight teachers from the public elementary and high schools vied for Best Teacher’s Success Story held in the Division of Dumaguete City on September 30, 2014.

Superintendent Ramir B. Uytico, CESO IV, in his message, emphasized that teachers and pupils need to celebrate success in whatever form it is. He added that this division-initiated contest could be a motivating factor for the schools, teachers and pupils in DepEd Dumaguete City Division to continue to strive for excellence.

Top three winners in the search for the Best Teacher’s Success Story were: Mrs. Enriqueta A. Baylon, of South City Elementary School, as the grand champion; Mrs. Florigen L. Epan of Taclobo High School, as the 1 st runner-up; and Mrs. Lucadia L. Facturan of Camanjac Elementary School as the 2 nd runner-up.

Among the finalists were: Ms. Violeta Torres of West City Elementary School, Mr. Guen Alejandria of Amador Dagudag Memorial Elementary School, Mrs. Miraluna Khu of Babajuba Elementary School, and Mr. Ruel Omangay from the Alternative Learning System.

Best teacher’s success story is the highlight of this year’s celebration of National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day in DepED Dumaguete City.
